NEW DELHI : Member of Parliament Santokh Singh Chaudhary on Wednesday raised the issues of farmers in Lok Sabha during the ongoing winter session of the Parliament. He demanded that the central government should implement the promises made to the farmers’ organisations working under the umbrella of Sanyukt Kisan Morcha. Speaking during the Zero Hour, MP Chaudhary said the annadata of the nation were forced to protest at the borders of Delhi for a long time and these protests were withdrawn on December 11, 2021 on the assurance of the central government that the issues of the farmers would be resolved. But, he said, even after a year, the government did not fulfil the promises made. He stated the farmers had demanded a law for guaranteeing minimum support price for all crops as per the recommendations of the Swaminathan Commission and a comprehensive loan waiver for all the cultivators. MP Chaudhary said the demands of the farmers were genuine and the Modi government should accept them.
